This is a series of events led by outdoor oriented organizations and companies to celebrate the how, where, and what of being active outside in Maine. Our goal is to connect our friends and neighbors with the natural world, to promote fun, physical activity, and good health.

Sunday, Feb 3, 11 AM: Nordic Biathlon

Roberts Farm Preserve, 64 Roberts Rd., Norway

Combining target and skiing skills. 3x1k or 3x2k races for adults and youth. Pre-reg: www.runsignup.com, $10 adult/$5 youth ($15/ $10 on site). Target practice starts at 9:30, race at 11 AM. We supply air rifles.

 

Saturday, Feb 9, 10 AM-Noon: Snowshoe Walk with Langlais Sculptures

Shepard's Farm, 121 Crockett Ridge Rd, Norway

Kick off the Great Maine Outdoor Weekend with a snowshoe walk with art, through fields and woods. Bring your own snowshoes.

Saturday, Feb 9, 12-2 PM: Sledding at Shepard's Farm Preserve

Shepard's Farm Preserve, 121 Crockett Ridge Rd., Norway

Bring saucers, toboggans, and scoops (or borrow one of ours) for an afternoon of family sledding! All ages welcome. Event is free.

Saturday, Feb 16, 10 AM - 8 PM: 2019 Norway Snowshoe Festival

Roberts Farm, 64 Roberts Road, Norway

2k, 5k, 10k snowshoe races (Online: www.runsignup.com, $10 adult/$5 youth. On site: $15 adult/$10 youth), Kid’s Games, Winter Wife Carry, Tug O’ War, Traditional Snowshoe Fashion Show, Mellie Durham Contra Dance. For more information, click here.

 

Sunday, Feb 17, 11 AM: Amundsen Fat Bike Dash

Roberts Farm, 64 Roberts Road, Norway

5k &10k fat bike race. Pre-reg online at: www.bikereg.com/roberts-farm-fat-bike: $25 ($30 day of race). Green Machine rentals available. 

 

Monday, Feb 18, 10am-12pm: Family Fun Ski Day

Roberts Farm, 64 Roberts Road, Norway

Family fun games and skill building. Free access to equipment, all ages and abilities welcome!
